MFA is here for Web Portal! And a whole slew of command line changes!
Usually, our updates are seamless. They just work. You update, keep moving, and only later notice that things got a little easier.
This release is a bit different.
Version 2030.6a of the Report Runner Web Portal now requires .Net 4.8 (or 4.8.1). If you’re not on that yet, hold off until you are.
But if you are ready… here’s what’s new:
- MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) by email.
- Better admin tools. You can now test your SMTP and LDAP/LDAPS settings right from the Settings interface.
- Cleaner command line behavior. Pages automatically redirect to login and back (when necessary), parameters respect what’s been pre-set, and reports called via command line are actually validated against permissions.
- A safety net for broken group assignments. Instead of losing reports, they now fall into a “NO_GROUP” bucket until you fix them.
- Tighter security across the board.
This isn’t just an update. It’s a small shift. More secure, more modern, more aligned with how things need to work today.
