Report Runner Batch + Viewer 2030.990/995 (BETA)

Known KeepReport Runner

Breaking things (on purpose), so we can build something better.

We’ve always prided ourselves on stability. On never breaking your production environment.
But sometimes, in order to make a leap forward, you have to draw a line.

This is that line. Do NOT download unless you clearly understand the breaking changes in this release.

The Big Shift: What’s New (and What’s Gone)

This BETA release introduces critical upgrades that unlock performance and security—but they will break some older configurations. If you’re running email jobs, SharePoint Online, or anything token-based, read this carefully.

  • .NET 4.8 or 4.8.1 is now required. (.NET 4.6 is no longer supported.)
  • All token processing now uses Microsoft’s MSAL/Graph. Old tokens MUST be re-created.
  • SharePoint Online connections using ID/password no longer work. Tokens are now required.
  • Tokens are personal (not shared broadly). The same Windows ID must be used to create and schedule the batch in Windows Task Scheduler. No alternat accounts.

These changes weren’t made lightly. They reflect Microsoft’s current security requirements for new accounts. Our previous token processing stopped working with new Microsoft environments (new accounts weren’t grandfathered in).

What’s New in Batch?

  • Global Monitoring now enabled for all editions.
  • 64-bit edition now available to all customers (at an additional cost).
  • All token-based processes (email, Event Server Mail Rules, SharePoint) use MSAL/Graph.
  • Fixed: FTP connections no longer prompt for passwords when using keys.
  • SharePoint folder paths now require root “Library” structure—simpler and more consistent.
  • Password display is disabled by default and can no longer be turned on via HideLogPasswords=0. Use HideLogPasswords=ForceYes only if needed.
  • Upgraded Chilkat library to 9.5.98 for modern SMTP/FTP compatibility.
  • Renamed “Login Information” to “Database Login” for clarity.
  • Improved logging and messaging around licensing and crash diagnostics.
  • End of Batch Notification report now always sent as a separate email.

What’s New in Viewer?

  • .NET 4.8 is now required.
  • Global Monitoring now enabled for all editions.
  • 64-bit edition now available to all customers (at an additional cost).
  • MSAL/Graph now required for token-based email tasks.
  • LDAPS support added to Viewer Enterprise Edition.
  • Password display changes mirror Batch (see above).
  • Chilkat library updated.
  • Minor updates to log messaging and license-related popups.

You Don’t Have to Update

You can remain on 2030.980/985 if needed—no pressure to upgrade.
Just know that future features and fixes will only come to 2030.990/995 and beyond.
